"We are just walking each other home" - ram dass

My calling to work in this space came early and my experienced with supporting through terminal illness spans over a decade and across 50 different countries, cultures and amazing humans. I have sat besides hundreds of amazing people as they shared, cried, vented and spoke about lives lived, and loves lost.

The death of my own son, Aaron, served as a catalyst for sharing. Death is just a moment, and dying is hard work, but I have had the honour of seeing that alongside dying, life can exist, love can exist and memories can be created in that space.

I returned back to my home country, South Africa, 11 years ago and began the slow and steady journey of showcasing the work of the End of Life Doula, and with each home I visited and each lived experience moment, I knew that this space belonged to more than just me.

I began training End of Life Companion Doulas in the Spring of 2016 and now ELSA serves as a space for all EOL Doulas to come together to serve and empower the communities we serve through our knowledge, skills and a sole purpose - to help position life back into dying. I hope you find what you are looking for, you are not alone in your pursuit. - Keshnie
